TOYOTA Corolla is the best-selling compact car in the world in 2022
Focus2move analysts named the best-selling compact cars in the world in January-July 2022. At the top of the ranking is still the Japanese Toyota Corolla family, whose cars were found by 652,000 buyers in the reporting seven months and occupied 12.5% of the world market.
By the way, Toyota Corolla, which topped the rating of the cheapest Japanese sedans in Russia in the fall of 2022, has been the best-selling car in the world for 20 years. Since its debut in 1966, its sales have crossed the 50 million mark.
Ranked among the most stolen cars in the US, the Honda Civic is the second-best-selling car in the world. In seven months of 2022, it sold 239 thousand units, capturing 4.6% of the global market.
The honorable third place went to Volkswagen Golf with sales of 182,000 units and a market share of 3.1%. It is followed by Hyundai Elantra, which was chosen by 163,000 buyers worldwide, which allowed it to take 3.1% of total sales in its class.
Models Volkswagen Bora and MG 5 are located on the fifth and sixth lines with sales volumes of 134 and 130 thousand cars, respectively, and shares of 2.6% and 2.5%.
Also in the TOP-10 of the most popular compact cars in the world is the Audi A3, which has risen six lines over the year and now occupies seventh place. Volkswagen Sagitar (116,000 units, 2.2%) was eighth, while Toyota Levin and Honda City rounded out the top ten, with global sales in 2022 of 113,000 and 112,000 units, respectively.
