Money for Krone and Geringhoff

These prizes are awarded at the largest trade fair for agricultural machinery in the world in Hanover, Germany.

From November 10 to 16, the world’s largest machinery fair is held in Hanover, Germany. With expected traffic of more than 450,000 visitors from 130 countries as well as 2,750 exhibitors, this is an opportunity, every two years, to discover the technological innovations that will come later in the fields. The organizers of the fair have announced the winners of the 2019 innovation prize.

Krone EasyCut F 400 CV Fold

The new Krone EasyCut F 400 CV Fold front disc mower-conditioner has a working width of 4 m. The new cutter bar is foldable and allows the machine to pivot backwards for a transport width of less than 3 m. Other advantages include the hydraulic folding mechanism operated from the cab and increasing safety on the road. The large working width of the front mower makes it unnecessary to adapt complex sensor control systems – an expensive technology that does not contribute to overall efficiency. The cover strips are eliminated and the quality of the work is improved.

Geringhoff Razor Horizon Star III corn header

The European corn borer is spreading more and more worldwide and is the main pest affecting the corn harvest. In addition to insecticides and biological agents, one of the most effective control strategies is to carefully chop the corn stubble right after harvest. Geringhoff has developed a maize header with integrated thatched shredder based on the Rota Disk method with a cutting rotor and two picking rollers. It consists of knives inclined to the rotor of the rear shredder, just under the header units.

For maximum destruction of all corn stubble, the rotors should be guided with the shortest distance possible to the soil surface. To do this, Geringhoff supplies the Horizon Star III Razor corn header with a rotating joint in the center. The central zone with the inclined conveyor of the combine harvester and the two lateral zones are guided in height by sensors. The Horizon Star III corn harvester therefore makes a major contribution to improving crop protection in corn.
